Although small, the Salisbury and South Wilts branch of CAMRA, the Campaign for Real Ale, is very active and meets regularly to discuss business and socialise. The branch area covers Salisbury, Amesbury, Wilton, Tisbury and all of the surrounding villages. We meet, generally, on the first Wednesday of each month in one of the many local pubs. We organise trips to breweries and outings into the countryside to our rural pubs many of them by cycle. There is a walk around four or five pubs on the third Wednesday of each month and a minibus trip to a selection of our rural pubs on the last Friday of each month. You can keep track of our trips in the events diary. Visitors will be made very welcome should they wish to join us at open meetings or on our socials.

We organise two beer festivals each year: Beerex, in June, is a joint venture with Salisbury Arts Centre and Winterfest in February, held, now, at Salisbury’s Chapel Nightclub. In addition, you may well find us helping to serve local real ale at Salisbury’s Food & Drink festival generally held in September.

The Campaign for Real Ale is a national consumer organisation committed to defend and promote access to full flavour and distinctive beers.

As a CAMRA member you can post to the forums and submit comments and diary events; branch members have access to branch meeting minutes and officers’ reports. We may moderate submissions before they appear.
